Choosing Pantone Ink Colors for Custom Safety Apparel

We know that when it comes to your budget and your brand, both are equally as important. That’s why we created this guide to help you decide on the right Pantone colors for your company. Whether you are looking to print on safety green or safety orange, you need to know your colors will show up the way you intended.

Here are some suggestions when selecting ink colors for printing on your safety shirts, sweatshirts and vests:

• Black is by far the most popular color we use for ink. Over 90% of the orders we receive for printing on safety green or safety orange apparel feature requests for black ink.
• White ink looks good on safety orange, but without a dark outline around the border of the image and wording, it will not appear very strong or striking on safety green.  In fact, many people will see an orchid-colored cast in the white ink due to the vibrancy of the safety green fabric.
• Due to the vibrancy of safety shirt colors, many inks will appear much darker on these fabrics.  For this reason, we suggest bright royal ink rather than royal, light navy rather than navy, burgundy rather than maroon, and dark green rather than forest ink.  Forest, maroon and navy inks almost appear black against our safety orange and safety green shirt and vest colors.
